Reporting definitions

Know which ROAS you’re looking at

A useful ratio starts with a clear numerator and denominator.

GMCMax product ROAS

Product ROAS = (Shopify product revenue − Shopify refunds) ÷ matched Google Shopping product spend. Shopify revenue includes every sales channel, so this is a blended product ratio. When spend is zero, the ratio is unavailable—not an invented zero or infinite return.

Google Ads attributed results

Google Ads conversion value and conversions follow the account’s tracking configuration, attribution windows, and reporting adjustments. They can differ from Shopify order totals for the same calendar dates.

ROAS is not net profit

A revenue-to-spend ratio does not by itself account for product cost, shipping, transaction fees, taxes, or returns handling. Use the break-even calculator to explore your product economics, then validate the assumptions against your own costs.

Don’t combine incompatible slices

Compare equal date ranges and consistent currencies. A country-specific ad spend filter is not a country-specific Shopify sales attribution model; GMCMax leaves unsupported country ROAS unavailable.
